emancipation

how can a father have an 18 year old son emancipated, he lives out of state and his sister has had custody of him for several years.

Your question is unclear. You the father are seeking to have your sone declared emancipated? To terminate child support? For some other purpose?

You need to speak to a divorce attorney to get some advice. If the 18yr old is independent, then you can terminate child support.
