emancipation

Husband son graduated in June from high school 1 years early. Son turned 18 in Feb. Ex never informed us of graduation even though contacted about other things. Husband wants to emancipate is there a time limited he has to wait before he can do this.

Upon turning 18 and graduating from high school a child can be determined by the court to be emancipated. College attendance can delay this determination. Full time employment, marriage and living apart from the parents can raise a question as to emancipation when there is full time college attendance.
