Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Am I entitled to alimony and child support?

I have been with my current husband for 15 years but have only been married for two. After recently decideing things aren't going the way I'd like them to I am ready to get a divorce. I am currently unemployed and my daughter and I have lived off the welfare of my husband. Now that I am ready for a divorce is an alimony something I would be entitled too? Along with child support?

**note that my child grew up with my husband but is the daughter to another man.

This is a rather complex situation and you need to sit down with an attorney to discuss everything instead of just looking at one issue.

Alimony is based on a statute in New Jersey. There are several types of alimony, but the term and amount depend on the specific facts of your case. The other issues involved in a divorce should be discussed with an attorney, along with your child support and alimony issues.
