establishing custody

What are the requirements to be granted legal custody of a minor child in NJ. The mother abandoned us and has contributed less then 5 hours of her time and no money at all towards the upbringing of our 6 year old daughter past 20 days

A custody complaint must be filed with the Family Part of the Superior

Court of New Jersey in the County Courthouse in your county. You should hire an attorney.
