Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

establishing paternity for custody

In NJ, does anyone know if the birthfather is not on the birth certificate (nor is he a legal spouse), if he asks the court to establish paternity, does the judge send him to a special lab, and is there a time limit the judge places to take the paternity test?

Thanks!

yes the courts often set up collection of DNA via swab at rates much less than years ago. there is a conference and often the tests are conducted the same day. this may vary from county to county
