Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
My ex-husband lives in Texas.....he owes over $50,000 in back child support and has an open warrant for his arrest for this back support. I am getting no assistance from the authorities in NJ. Where can I turn shy of brining it to the attention of the media? Thank you.

The county probation department can institute action to suspend his New Jersey driving privileges which will inevitably effect his Texas driving privileges. It can seize his federal income tax refund. It can suspend his passport privileges. If he has funds in a bank which does business in New Jersey the probation department can seize funds in his bank account. You can also file a criminal complaint against him for wilful failure to pay child support, which is a
fourth degree crime, for which he can be extradited to New Jersey. The statute number is
N.J.S.A. 2C:24-5.
