explanation of abandonment laws in new jersey

i need to know an explanation of abandonment law in new jersey. i have a minor child with my ex boyfreinds last name. he has not seen her since she was a baby but sends one hundred dollars as a means of child support every other month or so. nothing ever went thru the courts. i fear if something happens to me the minor will go to him and i cannot find him. his family will not help me. i have since found out i have serious medical conditions and am worried about the future.

you clearly need to hire a divorce/family law attorney, and take action. nothing i can tell you over this bulletin board will assist you. I believe what you are asking is whether your child's father can be located and compelled to pay more child support than he has up to this time. He can be located and compelled to pay child support based on his income.
