Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
My exwife enrolled my son into a very expensive college starting this fall without asking me if I can afford it or not. The cost including the childsupport is overwelming. I need a advice on how to handle these finances, am I paying too much, or is this a no choice matter for me?

Decisions concerning a child's college education are decided based on many factors, much of which is outlined in the lead NJ case of Newburgh v. Arrigo. Your financial ability is a major factor, as is your input into the college making decisions. In order to challenge this decision, you should immediately retain the services of an attorney.
Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There certainly may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since it appears that you have not retained an attorney, you should contact a Family Law attorney to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. Good luck!
