Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

exwife tells new girlfriend she cant see kids

I ran into my boyfriends exwife at his daughters softball game today. she said that I shouldn't be there (the kids know & like me) and asked me to leave, She said '' I don't want you around my kids''. My boyfriend and I are going to be moving in together & possibly engaged soon. Can she file a court order to keep me away without any basis?

Re: exwife tells new girlfriend she cannot see kids

She cannot "file a court order to keep [you] away without any basis". What she can do is file a Motion requesting a Court to issue an Order to keep you away from the kids. If she is able to establish that she has good cause, the Court may issue an Order keeping you away from the kids. Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There certainly may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since it appears that you have not retained an attorney, you may want to contact an attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. If you call me, [856-546-8010] mention Law Guru and your first one hour consultation will be free. Good luck! Rob Gleaner
