Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Father wants custody of his daughter

Up until a year ago my son was with the mother of his daughter, He left for an out of town job and was sending her money for her and the baby, She left the 3 children with her Guardian, Mother and married someone else for 9 months and then came back and got together with her sons father that just got out of jail that has a criminal record, and also has a past of beating the mother up. Now another person has come forward to claim paternity of my sons 3 and half year old daughter. We will find out if the other guy is the father on the 7th on next month. My son is convinced that he is the father and wants to seek custody of his daughter. The mother doesn't have a job or a drivers license or even her own place there are 4 adults and 3 children living in a 3 bedroom mobile home. Does my son have a chance of getting custody of his daughter. He is able to provide for her. I have suggested that he come and stay with me so that I may help him with my grandaughter were she will have her own room and will be taken care of and loved. Im just worried about how the judges rule when it comes to fathers having custody.

He should really have an attorney or he should at least consult with one. Many times, it is not what you say but how you say it. If he cannot afford an attorney, he should look into legal services.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
