Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
I am a father in NJ that has been served a 50b from NC. My girlfriend moved there after being thrown out of her fhther's house in NJ to be with her mother and took my son. What can I do to fight the 50B in NC and can I file anything in NJ against the mother for taking my son. She has been in NC for almost three months. We did fight in front of our kids a lot and I have made threats to kill myself over the phone and to hurt her and take my son from her. Will this hurt my case.

The uniform interstate child custody act provides that jurisdiction over a child for custody purposes requires six months of residence in that state. You can hire an attorney in that state to oppose any application she makes in that state and hire a New Jersey attorney to file an action in this state to compel her to return to this state.
