Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

fathers rights

My son is 9 yrs old. His mother has custody. For 2 yrs I 've been fighting for visitation. I pay child support and never signed my rights away to my son. What ( and or is ) there a law that states I am intitled to school, MD doctor, therapists,DYFS, and or any and all records concerning my son?

Re: fathers rights

If you have joint legal custody you have the right to these records. If not, you have to go back to Court which you probably should do anyway in order to enforce your visitation rights.

Re: fathers rights

If you have joint custody with the mother you have the right to this information. It is just a matter of applying to the Court for joint custody or at least the desired consequences of joint custody. Remember joint custody is not primary residential custody.
