Filing divorce papaers without spouse knowing

I just recently found divorce papers in my husbands care he filed it stating extreme cruelty.We been married for 4 years can he get away with filing and getting a divorce behind my back.

A valid divorce judgment requires that the divorce complaint be served upon the defendant spouse.
