Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

filing for sole custody

I am interested in filing for sole custody of my 7 yr old daughter. I can not afford a lawyer however. Is there a way I can do this on my own, without a lawyer?

Re: filing for sole custody

Of course you "can" but it won't be easy. Plenty of people do it without an attorney with a large variety of results. I can tell you that it is very difficult to do this even with an attorney. Have you tried calling legal services?

Jef is correct, a lawyer can give you a much greater chance of succeeding in getting sole custody.

try Legal Aid.

oh, you can call me if you like, I will talk to you for no charge. But that will NOT solve your problem. You really need a lawyer's help, not just a few words on the phone.
