Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Girlfriend removed from house
I have been with my girlfriend for 9 years and we just bought a new house last year. We are on the verge of breaking up, but she refuses to leave. Can I have her removed from the house even though she's on the deed? I look at it as trying to divorce her.

You must file an action with the court in order to resolve this matter. A lawyer is essential in such matters. You should also be aware that the manner in which you took title by deed will also determine whether your estate or the other party gets your share upon the death of either of you. You may conatct my office or email me but since your zip code was not supplied I am uncertain as to the practicality of that.

Other than filing a restraining order, no, not really, you are stuck living together until the house is sold or you buy her out.
