Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
My girlfriend and I are splitting up and we have one child together. My daughter is the absolute center of my world. If I am awarded 50/50 joint residential custody and I am also awarded joint custodial parent rights, will I be liable for any child support?

Child support is only partially based on the split of time. It also depends on the incomes of the parents which, when put into the Child Support Guidelines along with some other information, determines the amount of child support. We would need far more information than you have given here to give you a legitimate answer.
Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There certainly may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since it appears that you have not retained an attorney, you may want to contact a Family Law attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. If you call me, mention Law Guru and your first one hour consultation will be free. Good luck! Rob Gleaner
Yes, and keep in mind that almost no one has 50/50 custody. Call me at 732/773/2768 to discuss.
It will depend on your income and her income, and the amount of time the baby spends with you and with her, and other things as well.
You really need a family law attorney. Give me a call.
