Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Grand parents rights

My daughter had a child and they father received custody of her. She is now 7. My daughter allowed him and his new wife to adopt her about a this year. I have always been apart of her life since day one. We had a good relationship with her father and his new wife until about a month ago. I had her on weekends (with her three other siblings who aren't my biological grandchildren.) I treated them all the same and love them the same. I have been invited to b-days, christenings( I made the food) etc for all three, family functions as well as babysitter when ever needed. There was adultery and somehow I got the blame for the truth coming out. The stepmother then said that she would not allow me to see my biological grandchild ever again. Her exact words were because of this you will never see her again. She has not allowed me to see her or the other three. Can you please tell me if I have any legal grounds to stand on with grandparents rights since she was adopted. I am now losing not one but all of them. I know I may not have a right to the others but what about my biological grandaughter. She is my world and we have been in each others lives since day one. I relocated to be with her and have arrange my life to be in hers. Please help

Re: Grand parents rights

You do have rights and you should file a motion with the court. However, your rights are not as great as those of a parent so I suggest you see get an attorney to help you with this. An attorney can put forth a better argument to make sure that you get a good visitation set up with the child.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
