Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
granddaughter-adoption
Is it possible to sue DYFS in NJ or are they ammune? We have been waiting to adopt our granddaughter for over a year now. DYFS gave her to foster parents and told them that she did not have any family after we stated that we wanted to adopt her then they held up our paper work and lied to us on many occasions. We were told we didn't need a lawyer and they would let us know when we did then they made their decision to let the foster family adopt our granddaughter telling us we do not have a chance to appeal their decision becasue the baby is bonded to these people. It is because of the Division's errors that she has bonded to strangers. We are the ones who will love her no matter and will keep her culture and religion, which means more than money and material things. Do we have a case?

Re: granddaughter-adoption
You should file your own adoption petition and move to block any effort by the foster parents to
adopt.
