Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Grandparents RIghts after Adoption

My current husband adopted my biologoical son (with biological father consent) 9 years ago. The biological grandmother continues to call us trying to see our son. Their family dynamics is very disfunctional and my son wants nothing to do with her. We have tried to be kind and ignore her but I feel something needs to be done. If push comes to shove, could she file for visitation?

Re: Grandparents RIghts after Adoption

This a novel question which requires some thought and research. Grandparents do have the legal right to visit with grandchildren. On the other hand how can they remain grandparents when their grandchild is not longer legally their child's offspring.

I would be glad to do the work to answer this question.
