Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Harassment by Child's Mother
What are my rights? My husband was NOT married to the mother of his children.. One of the children resides with the mother the other with us. She has had absolutely no contact at all with the child that we have and she moves every 3-6 months so we never know where she is. Last month, she applied for State Assistance, so my husband went to court for child support (which he would have paid, had he known her situation). Anyway, on the court papers it stated our home ADDRESS NOT hers. Well, yesterday, when I came home I saw a car parked across the street. It was the mother! And after about 30 minutes, the door bell rang, and no one was there and then the car drove away. What are MY rights? I feel STALKED (as I have seen this car in the neighborhood last week) and since my husband was not home, he cannot ask for a restraining order. I'm being STALKED and it seems there is nothing I can do. Is this true? The family court, said I never knew the woman, so I can't ask for an order. So I feel threatened and stalked and what rights does a wife have in this case? Despirately in need of good solid advice.

Re: Harassment by Child's Mother
Your husband can file a domestic violence complaint. She was watching HIS place of residence and was stalking him just like when that woman was always outside David Letterman's house, even when he was not at home and was found inside of his home.
