Re: Held against your will

If the harassment is severe enough, she could file a protection from abuse action against him. There are women's groups in various counties who assist in these filings.

Re: Held against your will

I would be willing to bet that every attorney who practices regularly in the State of New Jersey is well aware of how protective our laws are of domestic violence situations. One call to your local police department, at night or on weekends (assuming the action occurred at that moment) will trigger the system. Otherwise, you can go to the Family Intake Unit of the Superior Court in your County Seat to make an application for a Temporary Restraining Order. They are very helpful and will guide you through the system. Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since you have not retained an attorney in this case, before you take any further action, you nay want to consider a consultation with an attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. I will be happy to assist you. However, you need to call me at 856-546-8010. If you mention LawGuru, there will be no charge for your first consultation. Good luck! Rob Gleaner
