Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Hidden money

As of April 2007 my husband has been cashing his checks and hiding the money. He only gives me weekly money for groceries. October 2007 he closed our joint savings account. What are my rights?

Re: Hidden money

Your rights? Under what circumstances?

In a divorce you are entitled to half of EVERYTHING he earns. In a divorce he has to account for where the money went. Depending on the length of time you have been married to are entitled to alimony, if you are dependent upon him, and the length of time your are entitled to alimony depends on how long you have been married. Generally, being married for ten years or more entitles the dependent spouse to permanent alimony.
