hod can i file for childs suport if the father is not on the certificate and i was never married to him?

If he is the father of your child he has an obligation to support that child, if he is not on the birth certifcate, you may want to go to Court and file a motion to require the father to provide child support, and as part of that motion request that the Court require him to submitt to a paternaty test which would potentially establish that he is the actual father of that chid, I would however consider consulting a lawyer directly, if you cannot afford one, I would inquire if legal services might agree to represent you, I do not know if they would handle a case like this, but initially getting some advise from a family law attorny would be in your best interests, good luck
