Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Is the house half mine?

My wife and I got married in 1994, and moved into the house her father gave her, when he passed away. It is still in her maiden name. Is the house legally half mine?

Inheritance and gifts from third parties are not subject to equitable distribution in a divorce unless, in this instance, your name was added to the deed to the house by your wife or you have substantially added value to the house through your efforts.
