Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Do I own this house legally?

Because of my bad credit, my wife and I bought a home that is only in her name. Deed, Mortgage, everything. The home was purchased about three years ago, about three months before we were married. She has a 10 year old, from a previous relationship. My earnings for the most part support the household, Mortgage, everything, about 80%. She has not felt the need to protect my interest in the home. If something (God forbid) were to happen to my wife. Would I own the home? Would I, or her child inherit the property. And since the child is a minor, would the child's Father have any say in the matter? I'm very concerned that I could lose everything I have in this world. Please help, since I cannot afford to, or would feel terrible to seek out a lawyer in person. Thank You...

Re: Do I own this house legally?

The simple answer is you and your wife need to see a lawyer and get some wills done. That is the simplest way to protect you if something should happen to her.
