Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

My husband leased a car in his name. I was the primary driver of the vehicle. I split the payments and the insurance. We are now in the middle of a divorce. I returned the vehicle back to him months ago as per his request. I offered to split the payment to return the vehicle back to dealership early. He agreed but then stated he had no money to pay for his half. He then went on a vacation traveling through Asia. He now wants me to pay him 3000 in order to settle. Am I liable?
