Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
My ex husband owes $187,000 child support. We've been in an out of court for 5 years. They don't put them in jail anymore in NJ. I can't afford to hire an attorney and Child support division doesn't follow up with getting the information they are suppose to get. He was suppose to proove he was getting a job, he didn't and they didn't follow up, he was suppose to temp until he found a job, he didn't, no follow up. Can I sue the State of NJ for not doing what the division is suppose to do since the tax payers dollars are paying for this service? He eats every meal out three times a day, buys the kids toys and such during visitation, drinks like a fish and I can't make ends meet at home. Help ME someone!

You can't sue the state of New Jersey. They do lock up defendants in New Jersey for non-payment or they make them pay a substantial amount . This is called a pay or stay application. I suggest you retain me to collect from your ex.
