Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
ex husbands girlfriend caring for children
I ahve been divorced for a year- I have 2 girls, ages 5 and 8, that live with me. My ex has a 24 year old girlfriend that my 5 year old has taken an obsession with, and I have found that she has been taking care of my girls in his absence, as she has moved in with him, form her home in KY. I have been informed that she puts her to bed, and lays down with her until she falls asleep. I am not comfortable with this- I have told my ex- who has told me to keep my ideas to myself- that the girls are well-taken care of and to mind my own business. We do have shared joint custody, but I am the parent of residence...do I have any legal rights to know about this young person who is driving/picking up my girls form my house for visitations on the his time? I am also conerned with my youngest daughter asking her father to coem and stay with them at his house, while my older daughter wants to stay with me. I do not want to have to split up the sisters time, but my daughter has been sneaking to call her father crying to have him pick her up on my time, so she may spend time with his new girlsfriend. He has implied to me that my girls are bored with me, and that I need to spend more time with them- although they are in a full-time camp program.

I have read what attorney Gary Moore wrote.
You clearly need the assistance of a mental health professional. It sounds like your girls are being pulled hard in two different directions, and their father is not caring for them all that much on top of everything else.
You also need a divorce attorney to help.
