Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

hello, although probably not illegal, is it unethical for an attorney who has represented you on several family court issues to now represent your former spouse? if so what is the best course of action and funds are a huge issue. i've been supporting me and my special needs child now 21 along with my 18 year old college student on my own for about 16 years. he has not done anyting including provide medical benefits willingly and has always been about children family and financial issues. i am so upset and need him to go away but when i saw he has now retained my former attorney i was beyone myself! i already work a second job to barely make ends meet and know of no one who could even take this pro bono so i have any type of chance. help!!

I am very far away, so I can not assist.

If that lawyer represented you before, the lawyer is not allowed to represent your ex. Ever.

You might also write a letter to the Judge who has your case or to the Family Part of your county, at the county courthouse, referring to the case name and docket number and objecting to your former attorney representing your former spouse against you in family court.
