Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Inheritance

How can I get my mother to give me the inheritance my father left me? He passed away when I was 3 and I am now 21. My mother holds custody over the money and will not relinquish it to me.

Re: Inheritance

It depends on how she holds the money. If your father's will left the funds to you in a trust to be administered by your mother or if the funds are not to be given to you until you are 25 years old or there is some other condition there may be nothing to be done.

You need a copy of your father's will. You can get a copy of his will at the

County Surrogate's Office located in your county for a very small expense.

When you have a copy of his will you should give me a call.
