Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
In-house separation
My friend and her spouse have been in an 'in-house' separation (living in separate bedrooms and not having marital relations) for one year. He has stated that he doesn't like her friends and does not want us at their house. She says the house is hers too and she can have whomever she wants at the house. We still go there when he is not home. Can we get into trouble for continuing to go there even though he said we are not welcome there??

Re: In-house separation
If an owner of the house invites you in, then you can go in.
Your friend needs a good divorce attorney, and needs to move forward. 'In-House' separations are miserable.
To your friend: If you would like me to assist, please call my office. I am in Hackensack. A half hour consultation will be $75.00. You can then decide how you would like to proceed.

I'm sure you will be fine. I suggest you tell your friend to meet with an attorney as these divorce-phobic situations never work out good.
