Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Interruption of support payments

I was paying court ordered support and alimony under wage garnishment until heart surgery put me on medical leave. What can I do 'til I return to work and resume payments? Probation just wants the money of course. I have employer disability insurance that barely pays my bills.

Re: Interruption of support payments

Unless your ex agrees to lower the payments, you have to file a motion with the court.

Re: Interruption of support payments

It sounds like your income has dropped a lot, and you should ask the Court to change the child support and alimony because of this.
