Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Interstate Child Support Issues
I live in upstate new york, my ex and 14 yeard old live in mid state new jersey. we were diverced in new york state. I currently pay $120.00 per week in child support and have all of my canceled checks. My ex however claims that I am 2 weeks behind and is threatening to take me to court and have it withheld from my paycheck everyy week. Now i dont' have a problem with that but with one exception. I get a small weekly salary and a large bonus check at the end of every month and if the courts deduct $120 a week it will literally leave me with $17 to feed cloth and house 2 step children along with all of my other weekly expenses. can you help me??

It depends where she is taking you to court. As they have now moved to NJ, they may file in NJ. If that is the case, I would be glad to help you.
My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

The solution to your problem is to have an alternating levy whereby most of the wage execution would be against your bonus each month. Perhaps the entire wage execution should be against your monthly bonus.
Call me if you like.
