Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Invasion of Privacy & Wiretapping

I'm in the middle of a divorce with a fierce custody battle. My husband installed keylogging software of a laptop that I own exclusively that was bought with my own money. He got copies of all of my email and every letter I ever sent to my attorney. I use a yahoo email address so my mail is only stored on their servers. He obtained my passwords if not by the keylogging software then by hacking into my email. He obtained my credit card balance for a card which he is neither a joint account owner or authorized user, and he is not responsible for the balance. He had a 2 man surveillance team follow me; take pictures; install GPS tracking device on my truck; investigate me and that is only the tip of the iceberg. Unfortunately we are both in the marital residence because I've been a stay at home mom for the past 11 years and refuse to leave my children. He refuses to leave because he was advised not to, so instead he subjects me and the kids to his narcissistic, controlling emotional abuse. He's snooped through my personal belongings and taken private papers which were notes from a counselor that I used to see. The system has done nothing but victimize me further by granting his ridiculous motions. Can I legally do anything?

I agree with Mr. Moore. However, I'm a little worried that you have to come on this site and ask these questions. If you are going through a divorce, you should have an attorney by now. Why can't you ask him or her? Give me a call (or email), I'd like to know the rest of the story here.

File a domestic violence complaint against him and obtain a restraining order against him. You can also file criminal complaints. Go to the county court house in your county and go to the Family Part of the Superior Court and tell the domestic violence person what you have stated in this question.

By the way you should try to thing of proof of your allegations.

Call me if you like.
