Re: new jersey divorce to marry German and visitation of children

Your question poses more questions than answers. The best way I can answer it is to give you some general information. The cause of action for divorce, such as adultery, really has nothing to do with your financial rights in the case. This will be determined in accordance with the general financial concepts of equitable distribution, child support, etc. As for the timing of the divorce, there is no fixed time frame. It will take as long as may be needed to resolve all issues involved in the divorce, either by agreement or litigation. I have seen parties agree to all issues relatively quickly and be divorced in a matter of weeks; others have taken years to resolve. Also, litigation is not the only option. Some people are now looking seriously at mediation where the couple sits down with a neutral mediator to assist them in resolving their issues. In any case, none of this is specific advice. You need to seek the advice of counsel to determine your rights and/or the best direction for you. If you want me to assist you, feel free to call me for a free telephone consultation at 856-546-8010. Good luck! Rob Gleaner
