Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Can I get joint physical custody of my daughter
My wife and I are filing for divorce. She wants joint legal custody, but not joint phyical custody. She also wants me to pay child support because of this. I used to get her up every morning, cook her breakfast, make her lunch, and drop her off at the sitters. After work I would pick her up and bring her home, make dinner and feed her. Soon after that her mother would get home and give her a bath. Since I was responsible for most of the care for her in the morning and evening and her mother gets home so late, do I have a case for joint physical custody.

Every case depends on the facts, and it is not possible to predict what the result would be in court.
As a general rule, if both parents care for the child and are involved, then the Court MIGHT decide that it would be best for the child to be in the joint physical custody of both parents. I am making no prediction; you should hire a divorce attorney and explore this.

You sure do, but you must still fight that bias since you are the man. I suggest you at least meet with a good attorney before doing anything.
