Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

can a judge take joint custody away from a father and give full custody to his SISTER on my grandparent's visitation rights hearing! no custody complaint was served to the father, and yet the judge surprised me when he did this to the father. I still do not have visitation rights too.

the father has no criminal record no drugs and has just purchased his own home to show courts that he had a place for his daughter to stay because he wanted to take full custody soon but his sister beat him to it and without notice to him.

You need to file a motion to have the Order changed. If it is within twenty (20) days of receving the Order, you can and should file a motion for reconsideration. The more time you let pass without attempting to change the order, the harder it will become to change it.

What happened? If this is what the Judge did, then this is just wrong. Taking away custody without even letter the father know is just wrong. You or the father need to file a written request to undo this and you need to get it done quickly. You also need a lawyer, this is just getting way too complicated and important to try to do on your own.

Give me a call, make an appointment to come see me, and I will go over this with you, and give you some advice.
