Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
The Judge's order said that my wife, the defendent, must file her answer to my divorce complaint "on or before July 18, 2010". We are both filing pro se. She filed her answer and counter claim on Monday, July 19, 2010. Should I file an answer to her counter claim or just go straight to a default judgement?

If the Court accepted her Answer and Counterclaim then you should file a response to her Counterclaim. However, I would suggest you contact an attorney to discuss all your legal options and issues in the case because your question really centers on a technical issue.
I would be happy to follow up with you. Please email me directly or call my office if you would like to schedule an appointment either in person or by telephone. My contact information is listed in the links below.

I agree with Mr. Burnham, unless you both have already met with an attorney who has agreed that neither of you need an attorney, you are both probably making a huge mistake here.
