What determines where a law suit is filed in NJ in

terms of the action leading to the law suit as well as

location of plaintiff and defendant? If sued in a location

where you aren't located where should your response

be filed?

Divorce actions are venued in the county where the parties maintained a marital residence and if it was out of state in the county where one of them resides. Child custody cases are venued where the county where the children reside.
