There are only circumstances because as a parent you are responsible for supervising your child in a reasonable fashion. Obviously, a child who is very near to the age of eighteen, the age of adulthood can be left along more than a thirteen year old. The problem is that you have neighbors or other third parties who may not feel your child is safe being left alone and that if
your child has an unfortunate accident you may be held to be responsible for same if you have
left the child unsupervised. You need to cultivate other mothers as friends who are trustworthy
so that you can take turns watching each other's children.
