Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Legal Ethics
In October 2005, my husband and I were recommended to contact a NJ attorney who helped them with two adoptions 4 years ago. They had great results. Since I contacted the attorney, we have give her 25k for the adoption of two children from Guadamala. The total fee was supposed to be 35k.
The contract she emailed over was very general in content, so my husband drew up another contract with specific details. The attorney signed and returned that to us.
It is now May 6, and we still have no solid information from this attorney, and believe we were taken.
Can you point me in the right direction? Thank you.

You need to file for fee arbitration. I am in no way a malpractice attorney, but I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have about the fee arbitration process or other ways you may be able to get your money back.
I am also a family law attorney and I would like to talk to you about your adoption case. Its a shame that someone with such a good heart has had such problems. There is no charge to just speak with me about your case. I just really feel horrible about your situation, so if I can help in any way, just ask.
