Re: What is a legal separation in NJ?

You will need an answer from a NJ attorney for some of your questions. However, you may be eligible to bring a divorce or separation action in Georgia. However, if you brought an action in GA, the courts here would have no power to decide issues over assets or child support or alimony. I dont know if he brought an action in NJ if the courts would have power over your assets since you have established your residence in GA. That will depend on NJ law.
