Legal Seperation
Please tell me how we can get a legal seperation in NJ, we have a good relationship,we are going to split everything 50/50,no problems. I will give her enough money every month to help her,and I will put it in writing. I will have her on my insurance still because she is ill and cannot get insurance. WE have just been burned out of emotions,and still want to be happy,however its over and we both know it. Can you please advise us both.

The firststep would be to consult with a lawyer so that he/she can draft an agreement that defines each of your legal rights.

Your situation looks like a perfect case for mediation. Couples who have everything worked out and are amenable to a "friendly" divorce can have all of the details worked out in a mediation agreement, which can be reviewed, at a very low cost, by mediation friendly lawyers.
