Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Are there any legal steps to be taken for custody by grandparents if a pregnant

If a pregnant minor verbally threatens the life of her unborn child several times, is it possible for the father or grandparents of the child to get custody in the state of New Jersey? What steps need to be taken? The father and mother of the child are not married. Any information would be helpful, thank you.

The father or grandparent could file for the child's custody because it would be in the best interest of the child. If the child is in danger the New Jersey Division of Family Services should be notified so that the child can be immediately removed from danger. At this point the father or the grandparent might be named as having temporary custody until the problem can be addressed in court.
