Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I live in New Jersey and I am legally seperated from my wife who has physical custody of our 2 minor children. I have been court ordered to pay her rent, utilities, car payment, car insurance and child support. The rental house that we once shared is now being put up for sale, which means my ex and the children must move. My ex is telling me that I have to co-sign for her new rental as she does not have the credit to do it alone. Can I be legally held to co sign for her new lease?

I assume you have an attorney here, so I have to wonder why you can't ask him or her? You will have to provide support and if you are paying her rent, I don't see much harm for going on the lease. You just have to check the rental terms. I really have to question what you are doing here. Why not just get divorced? Unless you went through a divorce from bed and board, there is nothing "legal" about your seperation.
