Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
I live in New Jersey. I'm married less than a year to a foreigner who had a student visa and worked as an illegal au pair for 6 years before I met her. A few weeks after we met she got pregnant and we got married shortly before she had the baby. She had stopped going to school and stopped working before the baby was born and had no insurance and the baby had a heart problem so needed special care. I thought I loved her so I rushed to get married. We signed a premarital agreement right before we got married. Everything is still in my name and we don't share accounts, but I did order a few credit cards in her name.
Pretty much since the baby was born, and a bit before that she has been having crazy periods when she throws things and screams and verbally attacks me and others. The short of it all is that it has been a living hell and I need a divorce, but she has pretty much no money and nowhere to go.
I love the baby and I want to take care of her, but I don't know what to do. She said she's leaving and wants to take one of my cars. I don't want her to take anything. What should I do? Should I go to the police and report her?
