Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I live in NJ and have been separated with my husband since 2007. He is out of the US now and I can't locate him. Can I still file divorce? I have NO address to server him the court paper.

Please help!

You can still obtain a divorce, but you would have to serve him in a special manner.

You can obtain a divorce. There are requirements concerning notices that have to be sent and/or published. It may be slightly more expensive, but it can be done.

Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since it appears that you have not retained an attorney, if you have any further questions, you should contact a Family Law attorney discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. If you would like to call me for a free consultation, feel free to do so at 856-546-8010. Good luck! Rob Gleaner
