Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
I was living with a girl for 10 years in Wayne NJ, I put a down payment on a house and put it in my mothers name.. a few years back we put the name in my girl friends house.. she thru me out and all I have is a typed letter from her stating she would refinance the house and give me my share.. We used her familys attorneys and he was to put a letter with the dead that in an event that this nhappened if would get half the house but it was never done. Do I have a leg to stand on with just her letter

You have two legs to stand on if you prove paid the downpayment.
You have a claim, and you may be able to get the Court to order that you are the legal owner of half of the house. I am handling a claim like this right now, where two brothers were to split ownership of the family house.
