I own an LLC within the past 5 years and want to file for Divorce. Am I required to show Gross Sales or Net Income sales for the past 5 years. My company has taken a huge hit in this downward economy and my income in not nearly what it used to be. What is the norm for basing child support on years of income. The last 2 years of income have not been what I've made in the past and am concerned I will be left with nothing after supporting two households and 2 minor children, Please Help.

I agree with the other attorney, you need a lawyer, and a good one, to handle your divorce. If she runs to court first, you will suddenly be faced with the need to explain your business situation and income. You need to get on this.

Give me a call, make an appointment to come see me, and I will go over this with you, and give you some advice.

Your question raises many issues, such as Equitable Distribution, income to determine support on a temporary and final basis which issues cannot really be answered in this forum. Also, be aware child support in New Jersey is calculated pursuant to child support guidelines, however, with your situation, it will complicate the calculation because New Jersey can impute income.

I would be happy to follow up with you. Please email me directly or call my office if you would like to schedule an appointment either in person or by telephone. My contact information is listed in the links below.
