Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

locked out of house

I went to visit some family with my 4&5 year olds, my husband calls and tells me he changed the locks and I may not return home. Is that legal?

He seems to have lost his mind. You must file with the Family Part of the Court in your county to undo what he has done. A lawyer is needed.

Re: locked out of house

I am surprised at the way Gary Moore wrote what he wrote. It is kind of funny to put it that way. He is absolutely correct, your soon to be ex-husband is completely wrong, and you need a lawyer to assist you. You will get back into the apartment with your children, but it will take some fighting.

Please get a lawyer, and go do what you need to protect your kids and yourself.

Re: locked out of house

You should contact the police immediately.

If your spouse has locked you and your children out of your home then perhaps you should consider filing for a divorce.
